Note: just so we're all clear from here on out, if y'all don't see a new blog by me after 72 hrs, it probably means 1 of 3 things: i'm either (a) in jail (b) partying way too hard and too drunk/high/hungover to get on the computer or (c) I'm dead.

Now you know. :)

Happy Valentine's Day from Sky Division

Here's a new "mini tape" (EP) from my good buddy, Keezy of Sky Division, "Hardly Workin" featuring 8 new joints! Show some love to one of my favorite local artists and someone I've grown close to and see a lot of potential in and check out "Hardly Workin" and expect more music from my boy in 2013!

Expect Keezy on the next episode of "Tubby's Stoopid Podcast" which I'll be releasing shortly.

Steve Jobs was no punk.

So for those who don't know, Ashton Kutcher is playing Steve Jobs in the upcoming bio pic about Apple's founder and possibly one of the most innovative minds of our time. I'm very excited to see this film. In an interview with Esquire magazine, Ashton speaks on playing Jobs and I found this lil piece aspiring and enlightening. Thought I'd share....

On playing Steve Jobs: “Jobs was an extraordinary guy, but a very ordinary guy in many ways. There was a speech that I found where he said, ‘So when you grow up, if you spend your life trying not to bounce into walls, just inheriting what you get, you gotta know your life can be a lot broader than that. Once you realize one simple thing: Everything around you that you call life was made by people who are no smarter than you. And you can change it. You can influence it. You can build your own things that other people can use.’ And I heard that and I knew exactly what the niche for making that movie was, what the social need for making the movie was. For people seeking purpose. I remember growing up and looking at the world and going, Okay, how do I live in this? Instead of How do I create it? How do I build it? How do I make something? And the empowerment of these ideas, I think they make an important story.”

Slow motion

It's only right that on Valentine's Day, the "Love King" drops a new song. This one, happens to be the 1st single off his upcoming album "Four Play" featuring Loso. Lord knows, I love me some new Terius music.

Ella Ella Ella, Aye!

"No 1 (wo)man should have all that power."

Jermaine just put out an EP of extra songs from recording sessions leading up to his upcoming album Born Sinner. Today he releases the 1st single off that album with the help of Miguel. The beat is nasty!

The real Tony Starks (Sorry, Robert Downey Jr.)

New Ghostface Killah album on the way! Here's the 1st release off said album.

Music to drink whiskey to...

NEW Big K.R.I.T & 9th Wonder "Reign On"

Mind: BLOWN!

Possibly 1 of the illest things I've ever seen!

French beat box extraordinaire, Eklips performs a 4 minute beat box routine covering various songs in hip hop history, ALL IN ONE TAKE!

This guy should be much more known than he is! This shit is absolutely incredible!

s/o to my buddy, Jordan for puttin me on!

Hi-Yah!

Here's the remix to Future's "Karate Chop" with Birdman's baby boy. Shout out to Mr.Miyagi.

There's Something About Harry

Here's a dope lil promo video from Scion regarding my favorite producer in 2012, Harry Fraud & his upcoming project "MEAN" (one of the projects I'm most excited for in the near future).

You producers out there reading/watching this, need to take some fuckin notes, cuz I truly believe this is the direction things will be going. Yup.

Simba returns...

I tweeted about this at like 3am this morning however for those of you non-vampires, here's the latest offering from Hov's baby bro, Jermaine.

It’s time. I appreciate you giving me the time I needed to grow, experiment, and find the direction for my 2nd album. And I have. Along the way I’ve recorded at least 4 albums worth of material, lots of it being unfinished demo versions waiting to be polished up, some of them are great songs and important stories that just won’t make the album (either they don’t fit Sonically, don’t fit Theme, or there’s just not enough space) .
Tonight, I want to give you a few of these songs because you deserve them. It’s hard as fuck for me to keep all this music from you for so long, so I know it’s been hard for you to wait. Thank you for your patience. Vibe out to these songs in their raw form, no polish.. just a lot of my soul.. The wait is over.
Truly Yours,
Born Sinner
PS- 1st single coming this week. The album is hands down my best work yet. Can’t wait to share.

NEW Tubby shit coming soon... very soon.

Cha Ching!

NEW Mac Miller feat. Prodigy "Confessions of a Cash Register"

I'm not a big Miller fan, but this shit is hard, mainly due to the always legit production by Alchemist (along with co-producer Larry Fisherman). Prodigy kills as he usually does over ALC beats!

T.R.O.Y

February 7th was a significant day for hip hop nerds as that date marked 2 occasions: the death of Big Pun and the born day of Detroit legendary producer, J.Dilla.

In honor of 2/7, yesterday, hip hop nerd god and DJ kingpin, Hot 97's own, Peter Rosenberg, put out this awesome mix of Dilla & Pun records. If you are a hip hop nerd or a newbie who needs to study up and learn a few things, peep this delicious mix by hip hop's favorite jew. RIP to 2 of hip hop's greatest!

Note: if you don't understand the blog title, YOU, my friend, are not a hip hop nerd. Just so we're clear. :)

Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of 50's classical "Get Rich Or Die Trying" (Yeah, it's been 10 years. I know, we're all getting old and closer to death. It's pretty lame), RapRadar put out this interesting lil piece of information on Curtis Jackson's career statistics, a decade after his meteoric arrival.

3rd time's a charm (Drizzy's back)

Wheelchair Jimmy is back. Here's a message Drake posted on his blog (OVO) along with his first musical offering off his 3rd album scheduled to drop later this year.

My good friends,

It has truly been too long. I assume you're all keeping well and making the most of this year that has been given to us. Today is the day to begin sharing my newest work with you. This is the first single off of my upcoming album. I feel sometimes that people don't have enough information about my beginnings and therefore they make up a life story for me that isn't consistent with actual events. My family and my second family (consisting of the best friends anybody could ever have) all struggled and worked extremely hard to make all this happen. I did not buy my way into this spot and it was the furthest thing from easy to achieve. I am proud of every part of my past and I'm excited for this song to find a place in your life as well. I didn't feel I needed any interviews or radio or press to launch this song. It felt right to come back to the site that I started on and release it to the people that started here with me. Judging by this post, the tour that we've been planning, the conversations about new songs and album artwork...I think it's safe to say we're back together again. Looking forward to seeing you all soon - Drake
