Killing Radios
Terius Nash (AKA The-Dream) "1977"
I've been waiting for this for a minute now! Here's the new free digital album by one of my fave artists, The-Dream (who decided to use his government name for this project). Haven't listened to it yet, but I'm reading good reviews. I'ma take a listen after I watch another episode of Sons Of Anarchy. Damn, that Peggy Bundy is lookin sexy for a 50yr old! #OldFlamesRekindled
Update: If you like homeboy's music. You'll like this album! Pretty solid. (Favorite track: Form of Flattery)

The Most Hated Baby on Earth
Little Baby Hov isn't even born yet and he (i'm just assuming it's a boy, ok.) already has haters. Myself being one of them.
5 reasons why I hate you, Baby Hov:
1.) You're daddy is like a God to me. I've worshipped him since I was 15. I can quote Reasonable Doubt front to back, and you're little bitch ass hasn't even heard it. (I know you haven't developed ears yet, but I don't give a fuck. There's no excuse!)
2.) Fuck the obvious fact that you're filthy fucking rich. You're Ma & Pa worked their asses off to get to their positions they're in and yet they probably already got you record & endorsement deals from the biggest brands in entertainment. I hope your punk ass is born a mute!
3.) Your "Aunt"/godmother is Kelly Rowland. Need i say more?
4.) Instead of lullabies to sleep to, you get Kanye West instrumentals that would cost the average rapper an arm & leg. And i bet you STILL cry, you ungrateful little fuck.
and #5.) You're first entrance into this world, is the through Beyonce's vagina! Nuff said. I hate you Destiny's Child! I hope you grow up to be a talentless, worthless piece of shit, like your mother's sister, Solange!

"Not Here Anymore" Phonte feat. Elzhi (Produced by 9th Wonder)
Here's the first single from one of THEE most underrated rappers in the game, Phonte (of Little Brother) featuring another rapper who is better than 80% of YOUR favorite rappers, Elzhi. Produced by longtime LB producer, 9th Wonder. If you don't know who Phonte is, I suggest you do some research & learn something. One of the most well rounded artists out there (dope raps, plus he sings very well, that's him on the hook). Phonte's solo debut "Charity Starts At Home" on the way!

New Mixtape: "Verde Terrace" Curren$y & DJ Drama
Possibly the hardest working man in hip hop right now, Curren$y (aka Spitty Andretti) teams up with DJ Drama for his bajillionth project in the last year or so! Spitta goes in over some classic instrumentals as well as some new original compositions with the assistance of Barack O'Drama. Who said stoners were lazy?
Disclaimer: This tape is best served with a freshly loaded bowl. Enjoy.

Jermaine unveils the cover art to his upcoming debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story. The album drops Sept.28th (i believe).
WTF?
"Murderer" The-Dream
Ok, so i'm kinda confused, kinda fucking excited too! So, The-Dream got this new internet album droppin the end of the month, called 1977 under his government name, Terius Nash. This is apparently the single (?) from that project. And for some strange reason, he decided to release the song via video, which isn't unheard of, however, for the visual, he uses what appears to be a trailer to some bad ass looking flick called "Columbiana" featuring the chick from Avatar. The movie looks pretty fuckin gangster, and the song, while pretty short in length, sounds good (I dig me some Dream tunes, if u didn't already know). I'm totally going to see this movie by the way.
That Terius is a strange cat. 1977 drops August 31st, online for free.

Mission Impossible. Mission Accomplished.
How Jay-Z & Kanye (or I should say, Jay & Kanye's people) kept "Watch The Throne" from leaking:
To combat pre-release piracy, Kilhoffer, Grammy Award-winner for West’s Graduation and John Legend’s Get Lifted, claims that all sessions were saved offsite to hard drives in Goldstein’s locked Pelican briefcase over the course of nine months. “Everywhere we went in hotels, we were locking hard drives and Noah took them with him,” says Kilhoffer, who now travels with external memory units that can only be accessed by biometric fingerprints.
The technology, which Kilhoffer implements while traveling on West’s current European tour, takes a live scan of one’s finger to serve as key to access protected material. For less than $100, devices such as the Eikon Digital Privacy Manager and Zvetco Fingerprint Reader measure the finger’s ridges and valleys with conductor plates, transmitting imprints through a USB cord to safeguard hard drive contents. While on the road, Kilhoffer and Dean are the sole gatekeepers to unlock the digital safes.
Fucking genius!!!
p.s - that pic is kinda creepy ain't it? ha.
I'm the one twice over, i'm the new 11.
NEW Wale mixtape "The Eleven One Eleven Theory"
Wale drops this mixtape today, titled after what I'm assuming is the release date for his upcoming Maybach Music solo album, "Ambition".
Nostalgic
Dope FADER article & interview with Frank Ocean, possibly my new favorite artist at the moment (it's either him or The Weeknd).
...Now 23, Ocean came to LA from New Orleans five years ago, after dropping out of college. The drive, which he made with his then girlfriend, took just two days; they stopped overnight in El Paso. Ocean intended to stay six months; he’s been there five years. To pay the bills, he held a series of dull jobs, in a cell phone store and in the insurance business. Slowly, though, he began carving a place for himself in the music industry, writing lyrics for people like Justin Bieber and John Legend, fulfilling one half of his boyhood fantasy: making decent money. “The writing, for me, is the easiest part—I was looking for another word besides easy—but that’s the part that’s the most natural to me. I never felt like I had a crazy, natural talent for singing,” Ocean explains. He got so good at creating these worlds for other people that he’d nearly stopped seeing a place for himself. “There’s a point, I’ll be honest, when I put a lot of my artist ambitions on a shelf somewhere,” Ocean says. “I had a couple of writers I really respected talk about how much of a calmer existence it was not to be an artist and be in the forefront and be that guy. I think I started buying it a little bit. I started drinking the Kool-Aid.” Eventually, though, his impulses kicked in and, last fall, with or without label support, Ocean began to conceive and record his debut album, Nostalgia, Ultra. Conjointly, he also invented a new persona, disassociating himself from the songwriter Lonny Breaux, to become Frank Ocean—an alias cobbled out of various tributes to Frank Sinatra, Ocean’s 11 (the original) and a pimp-like character he created to razz a friend at a party. In at least one interview, he even claimed to be Billy Ocean’s son.

Men lie, women lie, but #s don't (but they do get exagerated)
Recently, Rolling Stone magazine crowned Marshall the "King of Hip Hop". They made a list of THEIR top 20 hip hop artists & Slim ranked numero uno. The list was compiled by taking record sales from the last 2 years. Of course, record sales doesn't determine who is the best (what happened to body of work/skills?) but IF we are talking about sales, then i guess this list is pretty accurate. Read the list below of RS's top 20 hip hop artists & decide for yourself.

Unrelated download: "My People" Kendrick Lamar & Jay Rock - Cali's hottest new jacks team up again for another one. I gotta be honest, I'm slowwwwwly starting to warm up to Kendrick. I still don't think he's the "2nd coming" that everyone's claiming he is, but he's got my attention now. We'll see how this relationship grows.

"One Day It'll All Make Sense" The Autobiography of Common
- In One Day It’ll All Make Sense, Common holds nothing back. He tells what it was like for a boy with big dreams growing up on the South Side of Chicago. He reveals how he almost quit rapping after his first album, Can I Borrow a Dollar?, sold only two thousand copies. He recounts his rise to stardom, giving a behind-the-scenes look into the recording studios, concerts, movie sets, and after-parties of a hip-hop celebrity and movie star. He reflects on his controversial invitation to perform at the White House, a story that grabbed international headlines. And he talks about the challenges of balancing fame, love, and fatherhood.
I'm definitely coppin this. If you're interested as well, you can pre-order it here.
Word son.

Patience is a virtue
Hi there!
Missed me? No? Yeah u did! Well, no need to shed those tears baby boo, I'm back.
Sorry to leave you for a few days, had some business that required my attention (truth: i've been in rehab battling an addiction to Hydroxycut & Body By Vi diet shakes) but I am here, alive & well, and back on my blog shit. Thanks for checkin up on me & checkin in, it's appreciated.
And now for the bad news, my upcoming album "Even When I Lie" will NOT be dropping on Aug.28th, as originally planned. I am not happy with it 100%, therefore I plan on going back in the studio with 50 & Raw Beatzz in a few weeks to tighten up some loose ends as well as possibly adding some new songs. This album has the potential to be my proudest musical creation to date, and even though I'm not completely satisfied with it at this point, I am very happy with it so far, i just think that, with another month of attention & detail, it could be a solid masterpiece as opposed to just "a good album". I don't wanna rush things all for the sake of making a deadline that I made for myself so if you don't mind waiting an extra month, i will deliver my latest opus around the end of September, and I can assure you, it will be worth the wait & you will be glad I took a little more time finishing it up. I have some great ideas that have just came to mind recently and when I see Raw in a few weeks, we will implement those ideas & add the final pieces to my latest creation. I promise, you will be pleased! So....
"Even When I Lie" - September (i pinky promise!)
Oh yeah, and for those who care, I will unveil the cover art for the album on Sept.1st! (Yay?)
Thank you for your patience, and loyalty! I yuv yoo guys! :)
Unrelated: You didn't think I was gonna return from my little hiatus empty handed did ya?
