Everyone's entitled to an opinion...even this guy.

Photobucket
Hellrazor Co-Founder/On-Again, Off-Again DJ/In-House Critic, DJ Chris Roc (aka Rocco), took time out of his 4th of July festivities (i.e: getting drunk & eating brats), to listen to & review my new album "GRIA 2" via his twitter account (www.twitter.com/djchrisroc) but since his account is private, i've decided to piece together his tweets (thoughts) on songs off the album. For those who don't know this man & his relationship to me, let's just say he's far from a "yes man". In most cases, he's a straight up fuckin hater and an asshole, but, he's an honest friend, and he's almost as funny as me...Here is the official "GRIA 2" review by Chris Roc (along with my own comments in red). Let's get this over with...

Initial Comments:
Rocco: told a friend of mine that i'd review his new lp today. so, i'm pulling myself away from this dope new roots lp...let me check the fridge

i've got a new pack of newports, four beers, and peace and quite. whats more american on this day than that and listening to ignorants raps?

i've been told the lp is going to be the best 50 minutes of my life. i bet it won't be the best 50 in my day. morning coffee and poop >

you can get the lp for free at 907hiphop.com. however, would it have killed them to make it one big file and not individual dls?

"Raw Intro (Feat. DJ Rawthentic)"
Rocco: raw feat some dj is first....roffle!

"Slayer"
Rocco: ok, reload. beat is aight. only took james three words to drop a mf'er. very violent right off the bat too. too bad he's really a softy...wow, snooki reference alert! not a bad beat though. yawn at the ufc reference. i'm the rafael nadal of this blogging, welcome to centercourt. i had to stop it after wacka flocka flames reference.

...wow, a jerry (Shorty Roc) interlude? stop it please. he hasn't dropped a verse since 2004. overall, not a bad intro if you're into what jerry said.

Rocco: technical problem w/ tracks 2,3,4...i'm skipping to the next track that's listed right.
Note: if you are having issues with the streaming player or downloading songs, please email me @ bladegang@gmail.com so i can check it. Problems should be fixed now.

"Speak Softly (Feat. Josh Boots)"
Rocco:
speak softly feat josh boots aka the best/worst rap name of all time. beat is aight. "no joshin", i bet that's the first time he's used that.

...it was aight. i don't want to be too big of a dick (which means i'm going to be a dick), but i could use a rewrite on both verses.

"Everywhere I Go"
Rocco: everywhere i go. beat reminds me of 2005. i feel like e-40 is about to drop a "duhhhhhhhhh." this is the mandatory party song too.

beat sounds like it could have been sold for money, so i'm wondering how james got a hold of it.

nothing classier than getting fed grapes while lounging on a dingy motel 8 hotel bed. song is what it its though, not bad for what it is

"You Hate Me/She Loves Me"
Rocco: you hate me/she loves me. true story: i learned what "wipe me down" means after listening to this story. again, beat is aight. not a fan of sex raps. its kind of gay to listening to other guys rap about boning other chicks. hey, that's just me.

"Untitled Freestyle"
Rocco: untitled gria 2 freestyle. beat sounds like a reject eminem/dre beat circa 2002. raps are alright, but the circus beat is killing it for me.

"Booster Gold Freestyle"
Rocco: booster gold freestyle is next feat. this guy right here. good inside joke intro...if only for us...two things fatman scoop and dj 50/50 have in common. fatness and horrible intros. too bad cause this beat and raps are pretty good.

haha, this song is awesome cause its basically a tribute to the most akward, strange, and funniest guy we know.

"Fresh Outta Jail Freestyle"
Rocco:
Nullus! (no homo) next song!

"This Is What You Want" (Feat. Marvolous Mac & Bishop)
Rocco: this is what you want. beat is interesting, enough to hold your attention. weed carrier alert! now this song title is ironic...

"Finally"
Rocco:
Finally. the reflective song i've already heard. overall best song cause its honest (single tear). i wonder what tim dawg had to say? haha, i'm just glad i wasn't included in this song. dodged a bullet there...wait, there could be a finally 2 on gria3...

"Unforgiven"
Rocco: Unforgiven. beat is decent. best collection of beats on an lp he's had to date. anywho's, an apology song to all the scorned women

"Unthinkable"
Rocco: The softer side of james. almost spit up my brew when he mentioned melloned margaritas! reminds me of a T.I. "love," song, but without all the pandering. hey, some people like this kind of raps. i won't be listening to this again.

wow, when that chick came in singing (note: it's an Alicia Keys record, asshole) , my dog jumped up and walked out the room. not bad singing though.

"Finally (DJ Chris Roc Remix)"
Rocco: Finally The Remix, by yours truly. not to toot my own horn *toot*, but i think this sounds better than the original. but i'm biased.

ahhahah, we originally dropped in the alchemist/cnn follow the dolla beat over the third verse about tim... #CuttinRoomFloor
(note: that CNN remix he is referring to will be on the GRIA 2 Remix project, coming soon)

Final Comments:
Rocco: solid lp. but then i haven't heard like four songs, and i'm not going to sweat it. best beats he's ever had, and the raps are solid. i enjoyed the last half of the lp a lot more than the first half. ya'll should be the judge and go listen to it or download it at http://www.907hiphop.com/
