Good/Bad/First (Skeleton)

(possible) Bad news first: "At This Point In Life..." may take a couple more days to mix, we're tweaking 1 final record that may take a lil more attention than expected (it happens from time to time) but there is still a possibility of me having it up for everyone by Sunday. I'm thinking realistically, though, tuesday or wednesday of next week. It's just a matter of a few days... you'll live.

Good news (depending on if you like it or not): Here's something I've never done before. I'm releasing a rough mixed demo record (I call them skeleton tracks) of a song that will be on the album. I love the song so much, and the fact the final version & the demo version are so different, yet I like them both, I figured fuck it.

Here is a demo version of a song on "At This Point In Life..." called "I Just Wanna (Interlude)". The final version features Darius Dossman. Enjoy.

Cough up a lung (Where I'm From)

Just spent the weekend back home in Fairbanks... It's been a few months. Brought my kid to the park I grew up in... let her swing and ride around on her scooter. I sat there pushing her higher in her swing when shit just hit me, how crazy this life shit really is. It was nice, though. My life has literally come full circle. I truly never thought I'd ever be at this point in life... but I'm really happy that I made it here. We'll dive deeper into that pool in a few more days. Until then, enjoy this summer joint. This one's for home.

Word to Andy Kaufman

Here's some new fire from yours truly and my rap pal, Tak Havoc. Back in December,
I invited several local rappers that I admired, to a 2 day recording session in Anchorage ("La Invitacion") and one of those gentlemen, was a young local by the name of Tak Havoc. I had heard his music (click here to listen to "Weird Valley") through my other local hip hop colleagues, Darius & Trinity Beats, and wanted him to come work on music with me. One of the songs he was working on at that time was a 32 bar verse over a beat by local producer, Johnny Kohler (note: Johnny is the producer I was rapping about on the "Hold You Down Freestyle") and I instantly knew I wanted to get on it. A few months went by and I finally got to laying down a verse and what has come out of that is "Tak & Tubby". This is the 2nd song off my upcoming EP, "At This Point In Life..." which I'm proud to announce will be dropping May 1st.

S/o to Tak (you can follow him on twitter, HERE), Johnny Kohler (let's work, young Jedi. It's time.) and my good friend and co-executive producer of "At This Point In Life...", Darius Dossman. Expect more from myself & these individuals throughout the next several months. It's gonna be an exciting year indeed.

Enjoy.

Weather Report

1 of 907's own has dropped a fuckin classic and I feel compelled to put you on!

Blade Gang affiliate and one of my close friends, Keezy of The Sky Division released a new EP, titled "No Snow In The Winter" (great title by the way, most of you living in Los Anchorage know why), a few days ago, and I haven't stopped listening to it since! 6 tracks, all heaters! Keezy's been sharpening his blade with each project he's put out, and No Snow is hands down, his illest project to date. This dude has been on his grind consistently over the last couple of years and I gotta say, I'm truly proud of him, not only as an older brother/mentor, but as a true fan. Long time Tubby Blog readers know, I've been praising Sky Div long before I even met them and to see Keezy's growth... I'm just proud. The EP features production from Sky Div member, Slim Delaphante, Jay B and Keezy himself, all mixed by Muhnee, an Anchorage resident, who I've been keeping my eyes/ears to as of late. My personal favorite track "Trap Keez (1)". I highly recommend you take a listen. Hit the link below to check out No Snow In The Winter, and if you like what you hear, and aren't too familiar with Keezy & TSD, check out more of their shit @ www.skydivflydiv.com
